Teachers enter the profession to positively affect the lives of young people.

Our working theory is that we can more effectively attract and retain teacher talent with investment in aligning the reality of the job with the aspiration that brings teachers into the profession in the first place: the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to teaching and learning design; the ability to see evidence of their own impact in the lives of young people; and to be a spark for imagination, curiosity and meaning for their students.

 

There are 1,809,700 students in Georgia’s K-12 public school classrooms today. What “sales pitch” are we giving them about the agency, joy, meaning and creative expression they can enjoy if they choose to pursue a career in education?
